An audience goes to a connected ad account, so connect Meta or Google under Settings → Connectors before you start. The same connection that reports your spend is the one that receives the audience.
Good to know
- Email addresses, phone numbers and names are hashed before they leave Zenia. The ad platform never receives a readable address, and cannot learn anything about someone who is not already in its own records.
- Anyone who has unsubscribed, bounced, complained or been suppressed is left out of the upload. Advertising at someone who has opted out is the same act as emailing them, so it is gated the same way.
- Expect a match rate well below 100%. The platform can only match a person who used the same address or number on their account — 40–70% is normal, and it is not a sign anything is broken.
- Meta will not let you target an audience of fewer than about 1,000 matched people, and Google Ads is similar. A small list is still useful as an exclusion.
- Removing an audience here stops the syncing but leaves the audience on the ad platform with the members it already has — a live ad set quietly losing its audience would be worse. Delete it on the platform if you want it gone.
