  1. Search runs on the server, so it is fast on large databases and searches everything — not just the rows currently loaded. Add filters for a precise slice, and choose which columns you want to see.

Properties synced from connected systems become optional columns, so you can sort and filter on data that came from elsewhere.

Good to know
  • Contacts are either a direct customer or a company contact — that flag is what decides whether they behave as a person or as someone attached to an account.
  • A text message goes to the mobile number, falling back to the phone number when there is no mobile. So a contact whose only number is a landline sitting in Phone number will be texted at it — filling in Mobile number is what stops that.
  • Numbers are compared on their last nine digits everywhere they are matched, so +64 21 555 0100, 0064215550100 and 021 555 0100 are all the same number as far as calls, replies and duplicate detection are concerned.
  • Archiving is a soft delete: the record leaves your lists but nothing is destroyed.
  • Lifecycle stage is owned upstream for contacts that come from a connected system, so imports will not overwrite it.
  • Bulk-subscribing leaves hard bounces and spam complaints blocked either way, and — with its "Don't resubscribe contacts who have unsubscribed before" checkbox on, which is the default — also leaves alone anyone who has unsubscribed on that channel before, rather than opting them back in.
